Orathens Decor Limited is a properly registered, corporately governed house finishing company headquartered in the Kampala Industrial Area.
Since our founding in 2006, we have grown from Uganda’s first professional gypsum works company into a comprehensive design, finishing, and decorative contracting firm serving residential, commercial, industrial, and hospitality clients across the country.
We are not a casual contractor or briefcase business but an established corporate entity with a permanent physical address, a directly employed skilled workforce, formal business systems, and a reputation built steadily over nearly twenty years of consistent delivery.

In 2006, gypsum as a decorative interior material was virtually unknown in Uganda's construction market. Ceilings were predominantly functional afterthoughts. Decorative plasterwork was a rarity reserved for a handful of imported projects. The idea that a ceiling could be a design feature — that cornices, domes, and wall panels could be manufactured locally to international standards — was not yet part of the local construction conversation.
Orathens Decor Limited changed that.
We introduced professional gypsum board ceiling systems to the Ugandan market. We invested in manufacturing capability, establishing our production facility in the Kampala Industrial Area. We trained a generation of craftsmen in the precise art of ceiling installation, joint finishing, and decorative plaster casting. We educated architects, developers, and homeowners on the transformative potential of well-designed, professionally installed gypsum interiors.
The market responded. As Uganda's construction sector grew through the late 2000s and 2010s, so did demand for quality finishing. Hotels wanted grand lobbies with domed ceilings. Corporate headquarters wanted professional acoustic environments. Homeowners wanted cornices and ceiling roses that added character to their living spaces. Orathens was ready, and we delivered.
Over time, our clients asked us to do more. If we could design and install beautiful ceilings, could we also handle the painting? If we could manufacture decorative mouldings, could we also design the interiors they would adorn? If we could finish a hotel lobby, could we also finish the entire building? We listened, we invested, and we expanded.
Today, Orathens Decor Limited offers a complete suite of services under one roof: architectural design, house finishing, suspended ceilings, gypsum board works, gypsum mould works, and decorative paint contracting. Our company is led by an experienced management team with expertise spanning construction, design, manufacturing, project management, and business administration. Permanent Workforce
Our designers, ceiling installers, jointers, mould craftsmen, and painters are direct employees of the company. They are not casual labourers hired per project. Manufacturing Facility
Our production facility at Plot 1-3 Main Access Road, Kampala Industrial Area, is the engine room of our decorative products division. Here, we manufacture our cornices, ceiling roses, wall panels, corner pieces, and custom decorative elements. Vertical integration gives us complete control over product quality, production schedules, and customisation capability.
Design Studio
Our in-house architectural design studio houses our design team and 3D visualisation capability. Clients can visit, review their designs on screen, explore material samples, and collaborate directly with the architects who are shaping their spaces.

We use high-purity gypsum plaster for our decorative products. Our gypsum boards are sourced from manufacturers with verified quality standards. Our paints are premium formulations with high solids content, superior opacity, and proven durability. We do not dilute, substitute, or compromise.
Manufacturing Quality
Every decorative element leaving our factory is inspected for dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and structural integrity. Imperfect pieces are rejected and recycled. Our moulds are maintained to exacting standards, ensuring the hundredth casting is as sharp as the first.
Installation Quality
Our installation teams follow documented procedures. Levels are checked and rechecked. Joints are finished to invisibility. Paint is applied at specified coverage rates, not stretched thin. Work is inspected at key stages, not just at the end.

2006: Orathens Decor Limited founded. Introduction of professional gypsum works to the Ugandan market. First manufacturing facility established in Kampala Industrial Area.
